"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." - Lao Tzu
For a lot of traditional marketers jumping into the world of social marketing is intimidating. Not because it is rocket science, but because there is NO barrier to entry. Social marketing is analytical and still numbers-driven, but it is more about storytelling than anything else. You are influencing people to buy a product or service, but also enlightening them to your authentic and interesting story. Customers are buying in to a lifestyle and eventually being sold on other aspects of the culture you represent. While hundreds or thousands of other businesses are selling almost identical stories.
A Day In the Life of Your Customer
Let’s talk about the social funnel for a second. Your end goal is to make a sale, whether it’s an online sale or getting someone into a restaurant for dinner. You are working to entice a prospective customer through a series of social posts to take the next step in the buyer’s journey....read more

My Top 5 Favorite Posts I’ve Done at Avid 0

As Avid’s Director of Marketing, I get to be creative with my work. I have a lot of fun managing social media for clients, and sometimes I go back and revisit posts just because I love the work we do, a long-standing tradition with Avid Design. Below is a list of my top five favorite social media posts!
5. "Hug A Vegetarian Day" post for Revolution. Noteworthy since Revolution is a rotisserie steakhouse. I love doing the marketing for this particular client because they have an edgier, cheeky brand voice which allows me to do posts like these. Plus, I’m vegetarian so I’m allowed to make fun of myself. (Worth noting my favorite dish at Revolution is the vegan torta!)
4. “Friday the 13th” post for Hooked restaurant. I collaborated with Coni Terrado, Avid’s Art Director, for this post and the terrified sushi she illustrated cracks me up every time. I have gone back to look at this post at least twice since it was posted. This image was such a...read more

Avid worked with Kelly Liken for two iterations of her website for her now-closed restaurant in Vail. For the opening of her new restaurant Harvest by Kelly Liken, she contacted Avid for the web design initially, but also used the new restaurant as an opportunity to hire Avid for a full range of services—beginning with branding and expanding into print and digital marketing. More specifically, Harvest’s cohesive marketing strategy and daily efforts include menu design, print ads, newsletters, social media marketing and posting, reputation management, website maintenance, and overall digital presence.

What Digital Marketing Means 0

What is digital marketing? How can your business utilize digital marketing? To put it simply, digital marketing is a term that encompasses marketing products or services via any and all of the following: websites, social media, developing technologies, newsletters, online ad campaigns, mobile displays, blogging, SEO, or other forms of digital/online media. Digital marketing can be used interchangeably with “online marketing,” which all goes to say there are infinite tactics to be used for your business, and not all of them will be perfectly suited to your needs.
Online marketing differs from traditional marketing in that it is less about traditional forms of advertising—think print ads—and more about developing an online presence and making your brand accessible and recognizable to audiences. Because the internet is such a vast, open highway, it’s more effective for businesses to plant flags relevant to the interests of their desired customer/client versus shady spamming tactics....read more

Sweet E’s Bake Shop 0

Sweet E’s Bake Shop, located in LA, initially reached out to Avid to assume management of their eCommerce site. They needed a company well-versed in the eCommerce platform Magento, and worked with Avid on both management and upgrades to refine and enhance site functionality. Eventually, they asked Avid if we knew of any illustrators to recommend. Do we ever! We recommended our own Art Director Coni Terrado. Coni provided a selection of past illustrations, as well as some specifically-designed samples of what they were looking to achieve. Sweet E’s Bake Shop was satisfied with the watercolor-style illustrations they’d envisioned, and began working with us for their varying visual collateral needs.
The illustrations became pieces of a vinyl wrap for the official Sweet E’s dessert truck, which travels around like a food truck or can be rented! The illustrations are watercolor-inspired, but Coni and Kristen made sure to get the colors right on these custom illustrations so that the...read more
